GREAT time with the kids in Frisco! |

| Frying in Frisco
What a crazy week!! In the last 7 days I have been in 4 different states!! (5 if you include flight lay-overs) YIKES! After playing AVP in Virginia I headed to Frisco, Texas to run two camps with my great friends and old college roommate Janae Mertens. We ran a beach camp at this great new place called, The Beach in the morning and then an indoor camp at Fieldhouse in the evening. It was a non-stop adventure of kids, coaching volleyball, eating and finding ways to stay cool in the Texas heat. I flew into Texas and was so excited to spend some time with Janae and work with kids in the Dallas area. Like I said before I love being able to give back the knowledge and skills God has so blessed me with. I am also so lucky my little brother is a creative genius and created another company to do registrations. If you ever need to do registrations for an event, it’s amazing and so easy! (www.webconnex.com) Monday was our first day of sand camp. You really should check out this amazing new place. (http://thebeachatcr.com/) They have 12 sand courts and the sand is great! Camp started at 8:30 am and the high for the day was supposed to be 102 degrees! AHH!! I got out of the car at 7:30 am and already was sweating. So I was wondering how these kids were going to do but thought they must be used to it. When all the girls arrived, I had them do a warm-up and not even 10 minutes into after the camp, a girl went over to Janae and fainted! Um… what? We put her in the air-conditioning building and she was totally fine like a couple minutes later. So camp had a little bit of a rough start but by the end of it, it was amazing! I just loved these girls who came out. It’s so fun to see them improve over the days. At the indoor camp, it was much different being in an air-conditioned building. Other than management issues, this camp went great too. I also got one of the best presents I have ever gotten. One of the girls, Micah and her mom brought me a RED bag at the end of camp. Little did I know what was inside would make my heart leap! J I opened this red bag and saw a RED hat with #5 on the front of it!! Now if you really know me and know that I have an unhealthy addiction to the color red, the number five and love hats then you can imagine my elation. Please don’t start to call Dr. Phil, there are much worse things I could be addicted to! Ha ha! I don’t think I took it off from the time I got it! Another incredible gift was being able to coach with Janae for the week and working together. She coaches out there and is a really a good coach to these girls. I felt we made a really good team! Wish I had her in Colorado to do camps with me! Not only did I get to spend some quality time with Janae but I also got to see my old Colorado/California friends, Cam and Ryan as well as meet some new ones. Right now I am supposed to be in New Jersey playing in the next AVP tourney but instead, I am in Oregon spending time with my family and getting some much needed rest before heading back to Colorado. I am not quite sure what is going to happen for the rest of the volleyball season. The next tourney is in July in Hermosa, but until then I will head back to Colorado and enjoy being there for a while. I might actually unpack and buy groceries this time I am there! If anything comes up I will be sure to update you! Thanks for partnering with me along this journey!
