Europe Trip!

Well Hello again my wonderful friends!!

Here’s a quick update on my life since the AVP went bankrupt last summer-

I have been LOVING my time living in CO and really passionate about all the kids I get to work with. I am doing a lot of private coaching and my tutoring company (www.high5tutoring.com) is starting to gain more momentum too!!  I am so blessed to be able to do what I love and It’s been fun to teach these kids a lot of the things I have learned over the years.

The people in CO have been super amazing and for those of you who haven’t been to CO yet, you need to come visit. The people and community here are something super special.

As far as volleyball, I have played some women’s indoor and co-ed tournaments here and there but enjoying a “normal” lifestyle not traveling each weekend. I did get to play in the Klussmann “King of the Beach” tournament with 32 people, 31 guys and me the only girl. We had to play with different partners each game and the then based on your points and wins they ranked everyone in the end. Unbelievably I finished 4th out of all the men and it was an absolute blast. However the best part of it was seeing Andy (Klussmann) my former CSU assistant volleyball coach. This tournament was a fundraiser to raise money for him and his boys. He was in a horrific car accident a long time ago, his wife was killed and left him mildly disabled. To raise money to give to him and be able to get a hug from him was by far the best part!!

Then last weekend I reunited with Krista Wilper (formerly Swartzendruber) for the first women’s sand tournament of the year. Krista was my 1st ever sand partner, and one of my best friends. The last time we played together was in Vail 2 years ago where we won the King of the Mountain tournament. This was shortly after she had her first baby. Now, coming back from having her 2nd boy about 9 months ago, I convinced her to get out in the sand with me again. We finished 3rd and had a blast. I don’t think I stopped smiling or laughing the whole day. It’s great when you play with someone you adore and have fun with!!

So with the AVP gone, there have been other tournaments here and there to play in and I heard about a tournament in London, England from my friend Dave Miller!! So……..I am actually heading off to Europe tomorrow to travel the world a bit and then head to London for this tournament. I will be playing with a girl, Helen, who I don’t know (not uncommon for me.. ha ha) and will be competing June 25th and 26th. I am super excited to see parts of this world and to meet some new people. My childhood friend, Dana lives in London and just had her 1st baby so hope to spend some time with her as well. I am super excited but haven’t packed yet, so I must start now and hopefully will survive this fun adventure.

I would appreciate any prayers you might be able to send my way for safety, health and fun times. And if any of you know people in Barcelona, Italy or London, please let me know. I would love to meet some new people!

Thanks for always being with me in this journey of mine!

Love,

Ang
