Big Changes!!!

BIG BIG Changes…….

Hey my wonderful friends and family-

I wanted to update you in the latest craziness of my life. In this past November I decided to pack up my things in LA and move back to CO.  I love being back to Colorado and it’s great to be around such great people and community again. It’s been crazy trying to start my life over again but thankful that I already have great people here in my life. Still in April I have yet to unpack and have boxes galore in my basement. My office looks like a hurricane destroyed it! J

Being back has been such a great change of pace of life. I decided to transfer my tutoring company SOS in CA to HIGH 5 TUTORING in Colorado. (www.high5tutoring.com) My new site is supposed to be done soon too! J  With this I am doing my private school tutoring (mostly math) and surprisingly my private coaching is really starting to take off. So if any of you know of kids who need help with math or school, please let me know! I am enjoying working with these great kids and so thankful to be able to do what I love. It’s amazing to think that if I never would have taken the risk of quitting my job in CO to play professionally in CA, I would have never started my tutoring company out in CA and wouldn’t have had the confidence to do it back here in CO. Now I get to do what I love WHERE I love living!

So BIG question…. What about volleyball???? My good friend in CO flew out to CA to pack me up in my huge trailer and I had to say goodbye to the wonderful place I lived (thanks to the Kranske’s) and pulling away from the beach I didn’t know if I would play professionally again. This fall and spring I have still been working out and playing in fun tournaments with old teammates. I do love this game but didn’t know how much I would play in the AVP tournaments. I was actually at peace about it all and then I spent a couple days in February training in CA and loved it.  I didn’t have any expectations though.

About 3 weeks ago, I got a call from Brooke Langston (my partner from the end of the 2008 season) and she asked me to play this season with her. I told her I wasn’t moving back out there and was happy in CO. However, we both agreed that we have great chemistry and it would be fun playing again together. So I decided to play yet another year…. Except from CO!!! I don’t know how many for sure I will play and ironically 75% of the tournaments are in CA this season… the year I don’t live there! Ha ha. But.. I am playing in my FIRST AVP tournament this next week April 16th-18th in Fort Lauderdale Florida! It will be an interesting time since I will have to play in the qualifiers again due to Brooke’s lack in ranking. That will be tough since I haven’t played there for almost 2 years. However, I am just playing for the love of the game and hope that God will give me a new energy and love for this sport I am so passionate about.  Ironically the best thing about playing over these past 4 years if being able to use what I have learned to help my kids in my private VB lessons!

So I am excited to still be able to play and live in this beautiful state.  Here is the schedule of the 2010 AVP season. I would love to see you along the journey and again if you know of anyone who would want to come and watch please let me know. And I am always looking for places to stay and kids to meet! J Thanks!
